Did you know that there are over 50,000 different professional skills in the world of work? According to a 2019 LinkedIn study, there are at least 50,000 ways that individuals can create value for companies and organizations. Out of these thousands of skills, LinkedIn analyzed the top five that employers across fields, countries, and cultures believe to be essential for success in the workplace: creativity, persuasion, collaboration, adaptability and time management.
Here’s how Students For Liberty provides you with the opportunity to develop these skills:
While most people associate creativity with artistic work, creative thinking encompasses more fields than writing or design. Creativity is the ability to come up with innovative solutions to new or existing problems. SFL’s programs are designed to nurture your problem-solving skills from the day you join. You get the training, resources, and support to tackle the issues that you care about. Why wait until you graduate to create the change you want to see in the world? With SFL, you can start today!
Ever wondered how you can fundraise for your favorite charity, or recruit other students for the liberty cause? Or maybe you want your professor to change some aspect of the classroom learning experience? With Students For Liberty, you will learn that persuasion is about empathy, emotional intelligence, value creation, and building rapport with other people – be it professors, donors, or your fellow students.
While every company needs employees who are able to work in a team, university group projects aren’t usually very effective at teaching students how to collaborate. Our programs are designed to nurture your unique talents from the day you join so that you are aware of the strengths that you can bring to a team. Students For Liberty also has a respectful culture of open communication, and individuals learn how to talk confidently about their ideas, and actively listen to opposing viewpoints while finding common ground.
What do you when your keynote speaker for a campus event cancels at the last minute? How do you remain positive if a potential funding source for your community project falls through? Students For Liberty will encourage you to develop the capacity to think outside the box, and to be a more resilient leader who can meet any changes and setbacks head on.
At Students For Liberty, you’ll learn that time management isn’t only about punctuality, but about managing people. For example, if you show up to an event on time, but your speakers or attendees don’t, then the event will start late regardless of your individual capacity to show up on time. Our programs are designed to teach you how to manage your time and ensure that others respect your time. We will help you learn how to set goals, plan events, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and more!
Our community spans more than 100 countries across the world on every inhabited continent. With alumni on the Forbes “30 Under 30” list and many more who have started businesses, media outlets, and nonprofits, you can be sure that our programs are tried and tested. These skills will help you succeed in any field you choose – so what are you waiting for?
